I found the youth curled in a ball, sobbing. With her friend holding her, she began to share the ongoing body-shaming she was experiencing from another girl at school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"y-intro--upper--right\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"y-c-img extend\">\n\t\t<div class=\"y-c-img--extend medium\" style=\"background-image: url(https:\/\/yfc.ca\/london\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/58\/2022\/05\/pexels-monstera-7114756-scaled.jpg);\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"y-c-img--contain\">\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/yfc.ca\/london\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/58\/2022\/05\/pexels-monstera-7114756-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"y-intro--lower\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"grid-narrow\">\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"y-intro--lower--left\">\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"y-intro--lower-content\"><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI bet you wish you could have a body like mine.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen you walk, you make the whole earth shake!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHow can you even look in a mirror with a body like that?\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was her daily experience and it had reached a climax.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As I listened to her story, I could see that she felt alone, called out, and dealing with shame from the repetitive negative comments. She had already reported the bullying, but with the increased needs at our schools, there are limited resources available to support her. Therefore, all she had left were the staff at YFC. As we shared space together, we explored what the bully may be experiencing to make such harsh comments. It came out that the bully\u2019s parents divorced in the new year and this is when she began attacking this youth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our conversation then shifted to what God spoke over us and how He views our bodies and life. We turned to Ephesians 2:10 \u201cFor we are God\u2019s beautiful masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do the work that He prepared in advance for us to do.\u201d She reflected on how the Creator loved her and placed beauty over and in her life. If her Creator said she is beautiful, who has the right to say otherwise? Peace entered our space and she took a deep breath once again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your support to YFC London provides youth with a safe space to be vulnerable, reflect, and consider how to overcome the challenges they face.
