He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs out our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.\u201d<\/em> Samuel Chadwick<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_5 et_pb_text_align_justified et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<p>Kawartha House Of Prayer (KHOP) brings together followers of Jesus in a safe, vibrant environment to join God in transforming the people of Peterborough and the Kawarthas through intimate prayer and worship.<\/p>\n<p>We ask for God\u2019s blessing and protection for every aspect of life in our community and region. We pray for individuals, for healthy relationships and healthy homes; we pray for congregations and ministries; we pray for businesses, schools, hospitals and medical professionals, our political leaders, police and fire fighters, the public media, and for our justice system.<\/p>\n<p>We meet on\u00a0<strong>Thursdays at 2 pm <\/strong>throughout the year and on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am<\/strong>\u00a0during the school year at\u00a0<strong>The Bridge Youth Centre (256 Brock Street)<\/strong> a<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>KHOP is an initiative of Church In The City (CITC) which is made up of 24 congregations and 14 ministries (including Youth Unlimited) in Peterborough and area. CITC is a growing relational network of congregations and ministries that join together to serve people of Peterborough and the Kawarthas in Jesus\u2019 name.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">If you want to have someone pray for you, please email Glenn Duncan at\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem;\" href=\"mailto:khop@youthunlimitedkaw.com\">khop@youthunlimitedkaw.com<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0or call Glenn at the YU office 743-2900.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_8 et_pb_text_align_justified et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>KHOP Core Values<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Love is the all-encompassing value and the hallmark of the true follower of Jesus.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Scriptures teach us that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The two greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbour (Mark 12:28-31.)<\/li>\n<li>Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another (John 13:34, 35.)<\/li>\n<li>Love is the virtue that binds all other virtues together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14.)<\/li>\n<li>Without love every other virtue aspired to is worthless ( I Corinthians 13:1-13.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>We are committed to listening to God.\u00a0<\/strong>We will take the time and make the effort necessary to discern God\u2019s heart before decisions are made or actions are taken.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>People are important.\u00a0<\/strong>With a spirit of humility, we will seek to build relationships characterized by patience and forgiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>We are committed to praying with passion.\u00a0<\/strong>Prayer is God\u2019s invitation into His heart. It is our privilege not our punishment, our delight not our duty.
