Part 1: Inward Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
Welcome. Our theme for this month is the Psalms. The Psalms are a collection of 150 ancient Hebrew poems, songs, and prayers.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Our scripture reading for today is Psalm 139:1-6. Before we begin, Let’s take 3 slow, deep breaths to calm the mind, body and soul.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2029Psalm 139:1- 6<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
O Lord. You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up,<\/strong><\/div>\n
you discern my thoughts from afar.\u00a0<\/strong>You search out my path and my lying down,<\/strong><\/div>\n
and are acquainted with all my ways. <\/strong>Even before a word is on my tongue.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Behold, O Lord. You know it all together.\u00a0<\/strong>You hem me in.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high. I cannot attain it.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In this psalm, David makes room to contemplate on God himself. He gives space to dwell on the wonderment of the Lord. \u2029In this passage, There are no requests for earthly needs, no thought of deliverance, no burden, asking to be lifted. No petition. But only reflecting on the power, wonderment, and person of the almighty, in relationship to us.<\/div>\n
He knows in detail, our daily comings and goings, our thoughts, before being expressed, resulting in the intimate knowledge of ourselves.<\/div>\n
\u00a0His presence surrounding us, not suffocating us. But in love, protection, and guidance with his hand. \u2029Even when we feel like he is far away, he is still there with us, with you.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0When in our prayers and thoughts, do we make time to dwell on him, his face? Let’s do this together now, no petition. No requests. But gazing and marvelling at the fact that our Lord God is present with us and with you right now.<\/div>\n

Has there been a recent time where you did not feel the presence of the Lord? \u2029Ask him. In this situation, Father, where were you? So I can recognize and see you then, and moving forward.<\/div>\n

Part 2: Outward Focus<\/b><\/p>\n

With our outward focus towards the youth, we serve. Let’s reread Psalm 139:1-6.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
O Lord. You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up,<\/strong><\/div>\n

Is there a youth that you have had a conversation with, where the presence of God is evident? \u2029Ask the Lord the next step to take in guiding this youth to recognize him, and who he is.<\/div>\n

Part 3: Closing Prayer<\/b><\/p>\n

We will close with an ancient prayer for God\u2019s peace and protection as we entrust ourselves into His care.<\/span><\/p>\n

O God,<\/span>
\n<\/span> from whom all holy desires, all good counsels,<\/span>
\n<\/span> and all just works do proceed:<\/span>
\n<\/span> give to your servants that peace<\/span>
\n<\/span> which the world cannot give;<\/span>
\n<\/span> that our hearts may be set to obey your will;<\/span>
\n<\/span> and that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies,<\/span>
\n<\/span> may pass our time in rest and quietness;<\/span>
\n<\/span> through Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/span>
\n<\/span> Amen.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\n\n
