Lectio Divina: Clarity

\nScripture: Ephesians 1:16-17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Part 1: Inward Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Welcome.<\/p>\n

Today we are taking a few minutes to pause and pray around the theme of clarity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We all come into this moment from different places. Some of us may feel focused and ready. Others may feel tired, distracted, uncertain, or stretched thin. You may be carrying decisions, relationships, responsibilities, or questions that feel unclear.<\/p>\n

So, before we ask God for answers, we begin by simply becoming present.<\/p>\n

Take a slow breath in.
\nAnd slowly breathe out.<\/p>\n

Let your body settle. Let your mind slow down, and let yourself arrive with God.<\/p>\n

In Ephesians 1:16\u201317, Paul says:<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s prayer is not only that people would know what to do. His prayer is that they would know God more deeply. That they would receive wisdom and revelation. That their vision would become clearer because they were growing in the knowledge of Him.<\/em><\/p>\n

As we pray for clarity today, we are not only asking God to help us make good decisions. We are asking God to help us see and hear Him more clearly, and to follow Him more faithfully.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s begin with a minute of quiet.<\/p>\n

In the silence, you may want to pray:<\/p>\n

\u201cGod, give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation. Help me know you more clearly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pause\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord, we thank you that you are present with us.<\/p>\n

You see what feels clear, and you see what feels confusing.
\nYou know where we have confidence, and where we feel uncertain.
\nYou understand the responsibilities we carry, the people we care for, and the decisions that are before us.<\/p>\n

We ask for the spirit of wisdom and revelation that Paul prayed for.<\/p>\n

Give us clarity that is rooted in knowing you.<\/p>\n

Not just clarity for the tasks we must perform, but clarity of our hearts.
\nWe ask for not only clarity to make decisions, but clarity of purpose.<\/p>\n

And finally, we ask for clarity for what is next, but also clarity about who you are and how you are leading us.<\/p>\n

Now I invite you to reflect on two questions for yourself.<\/p>\n

Where do I need God\u2019s wisdom or clarity in my own life, work, or leadership right now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pause<\/p>\n

Is there any place where hurry, pressure, fear, or distraction is making it harder for me to see clearly?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take a moment to hold those questions before God.<\/p>\n

Pause<\/strong><\/p>\n

God, we offer you the places where we need clarity.<\/p>\n

For the decisions we are facing, we ask for wisdom.
\nFor the responsibilities we are carrying, give us discernment.
\nWhere we feel overwhelmed, give us peace.
\nAnd for the places where we are rushing, help us slow down enough to notice your presence.<\/p>\n

Help us not to rely only on our own understanding, but to listen well.
\nHelp us pay attention to what you are revealing to us.
\nGive us the capacity to receive wisdom not as pressure, but as a gift.<\/p>\n

Part 2: Outward Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n

As you think about the young people connected to your ministry, bring these questions before God:<\/p>\n

What might a young person I know be carrying right now that feels confusing, heavy, or unclear?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pause<\/p>\n

How might God be inviting me, or our ministry, to help create a safe place where that young person can experience wisdom, hope, and the love of Christ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pause<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord, we pray for the young people you have entrusted to us.That you lead them out of confusion into light.
\nWhere they are anxious, bring peace.
\nDraw near to them as they are searching.
\nBring them hope in their discouragement.
\nWhere they are unsure of who they are, help them know they are deeply loved by you.<\/p>\n

I pray that we would be \u00a0people who will listen well.
\nWho will give them safe places to ask honest questions.
\nGive them courage to take the next faithful step.<\/p>\n

And give us wisdom as we walk alongside them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Part 2: Closing Prayer<\/b><\/p>\n

We will close with an ancient prayer for God\u2019s peace and protection as we entrust ourselves into his care.<\/p>\n

O God,
\nfrom whom all holy desires, all good counsels,
\nand all just works do proceed:
\ngive to your servants that peace
\nwhich the world cannot give;
\nthat our hearts may be set to obey your will;
\nand that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies,
\nmay pass our time in rest and quietness;
\nthrough Jesus Christ our Lord.
\nAmen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\n\n
