text-strikethrough-none\">Youth for Christ Selkirk is a satellite of Youth for Christ Winnipeg. Since 1987, the Selkirk Drop-In Centre has been a safe space for teens needing physical, spiritual and social care and support. Fire<\/h1>\n<p>Tragically, in September 2024, our building had an\u00a0electrical fire\u00a0in the kitchen. There was extreme smoke, heat and water damage throughout the building, making it unusable for programs, and displacing the teens who rely on it. During the insurance evaluation process, a structural engineer came to the conclusion that the foundation of our structure was faulty as well.<\/p>\n<p>We have made the decision that we felt would be the best investment for the future of our ministry, which is to remove our 80 year old building, and\u00a0create a new building\u00a0in the same location.
