The Lord gave Dave a heart of compassion for people, specifically for those who face the huge challenges of poverty in other places. This led him years ago to seek out opportunities to help those in need overseas, knowing there were organizations reaching out to meet very practical needs.
He was thrilled over 10 years ago to find the Compassionate Resource Warehouse, who have sent over 500 containers of supplies to more than 75 different countries, allowing groups in remote places overseas to reach people with the love of Christ.
In 2012, the Lord connected Dave’s work with them to the world of YFC! Over the past four years, he has enjoyed travelling to seven different YFC nations to visit the work they do and has coordinated containers of supplies to support the work of YFC The Gambia, Belarus and Burundi, with Ghana and Kenya. Locally, Dave also enjoys getting many young people involved in this ministry of providing for the poor, the orphan and the widow, trusting that they will catch a vision of how they can impact their world.
On the family front, Dave has been married over 30 years and has three grown children, one of whom is married. He enjoys quiet walks and hikes in the great outdoors, doing projects around home, and helping his neighbours when opportunities arise.
Dave also saves ED Lindsay’s bacon once in while doing some admin tasks, and is humorously known to be at an elevated status in the YFC world.
