Kurt started at YFC Victoria in 2020 with a passion to serve our local Indigenous youth and point them to Christ.

He grew up in Manitoba, went to Bible college in Abbotsford, and felt called to Vancouver Island in 2014. While he was serving as a local youth pastor, the Lord lead him to Tsawout First Nation as a YFC volunteer.

A few years later, God surprised him. Sitting in a restaurant with the Mobile Outreach Director, he was asked if he would join the YFC Mobile Outreach team full-time. After much prayer, Kurt felt strongly that this was a calling God was putting on his life and he began his journey with YFC. He looks forward to seeing our great God continue to do wondrous things in the lives of Indigenous youth!

Kurt is married and has two young boys that occupy most of his free time. He enjoys exploring new roads on his motorcycle, going for hikes, watching Winnipeg Jets’ games, and drinking good coffee.
