Would you consider coming alongside Ryan as a prayer and financial partner by investing in his leadership as well? The YFC model requires all YFC staff to raise their own salary as youth missionaries, so your partnership is vital.
As a new member of our team, in order for this missionary leadership role to be possible, Ryan will need your support. Please hear his story and be stirred by his passion. You can become a part of Ryan’s ministry by committing to pray for him daily and by becoming a monthly financial partner. It will be a blessing to you as well, as you become a part of changing lives among the at-risk young people on Vancouver Island.
– Paul MacMurchy, Nanaimo Area Director
I was born and raised in the Comox Valley and was introduced to Jesus at the age of 14 after encountering him through a supernatural experience while at youth camp. After accepting Jesus into my heart, I spent the next 4 years being a part of youth groups in the churches I attended. It was there that I was taught about God and the relationship that is available with Him.
I see now that God was working in my years as a youth to prepare me for my future! In 2021, God began to move me and my wife, Heather, toward leading the youth and women’s ministry in our local church, and outreach to the streets of Nanaimo. This calling has now expanded to joining the staff team of Youth for Christ Nanaimo. We want to introduce young people to Jesus, and help them grow their faith and relationships with God.
It’s our goal that, with God in their lives, they will be focused and well-mannered individuals, full of love as they go through the transformation of youth to adult! I know in my heart that He is calling us into this season of youth ministry. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with YFC where I can help train and guide the youth of today (including my own 3 kids!) to become outstanding individuals while keeping God as their main focus.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
