YFC Canada
Position: Youth Worker, In House Philosopher
Justin began working at YFC Niverville in 2016, originally brought on as a lowly summer worker in between years of Bible college. By popular demand, Justin returned to YFC Niverville and the role of schekjbenjel in the summers of 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021, before officially becoming cool enough to join the staff team at the beginning of 2022. Today, Justin takes great pleasure in bidding the next generation of summer workers to fetch stuff from the storage room and clean the toilets: he claims it reminds him of the good ol’ days.
Justin is currently responsible for overseeing open drop-in on Monday evenings and remains very involved in our summer programming, helping to plan and lead events such as our annual yard sale and special out trips: to the zoo, to explore Winnipeg’s skateparks, and to brave rock climbing at YFC Winnipeg for example. Justin spends much of his time getting to know youth through basketball, while also taking on much of the maintenance work that needs to be done here at YFC Niverville.
When not at YFC, you might find Justin studying philosophy at the University of Manitoba or serving in the local church. Or maybe, just maybe, you’ll find that he was with you in your heart all along.
