Peterborough Youth Unlimited Multi-Use Sport Court
We are so excited to announce a project that we have been quietly working on over the past year!!
Through much prayer and discernment, the team here at Peterborough Youth Unlimited have envisioned a project to enhance our space, presence, and mission in the downtown core.
We didn’t just want to pave our back lot and put up a fence. No, we wanted to do something really special. From conception, we envisioned a project that would provide the youth in our community a safe space to be active, have fun, socialize, and find peace.
This project primarily features a a multi-use sport court for sports such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, ball hockey, and more, all enclosed within a fenced perimeter.
Additionally, we have defined a space to preserve our previous seating area which will be enhanced with a fenced, courtyard, gazebo, fire pit, gardens, and improved seating.
We will also be paving our back parking lot (no more gravel), as well as enhancing the lighting and camera coverage for the overall safety and security of the property and the users of our space.
So much of the ground work has already been completed. Planning, drafting, consulting and designing to final vision for this space. We are finally ready to take the next steps towards bringing the sports court to fruition! We have worked diligently alongside a number of existing partners and contractors to bring together a design that will function well and serve the needs of the youth in our community.
