Legacy & Planned Giving

What is Legacy Giving?

Legacy Giving is when you leave a gift through your will or another planned giving vehicle to a charity or cause that is meaningful to you. It is choosing to leave a gift from the heart that brings meaning, dignity and purpose to a life well lived; an enduring example for your children and grandchildren. Your gift is your opportunity to participate in the long term sustainable ministry of YFC. It also represents a way to facilitate the tax implications that come with the transfer of one’s estate to surviving relatives. By putting YFC in your will or making bequests and other “planned gifts,” you can continue to help making an important difference in the lives of young people in your community.

Legacy giving can be done in different ways. Below are descriptions of three. Feel free to download and/ or read the articles. You are also invited to call the office and speak with our Executive Director, Art Schroeder, about more of the details to implement one or all the options below.

Types of Legacy Giving

Wills and Bequests

Your will is an important part of your estate planning. But it can be much more than this. Your will is an opportunity to make an impact for good in the world. You can help us make a difference to your family and to your community. Consider carefully those things which are important to you, and make sure you have a will.

Gifts of Property

Many people do not realize that they do have the means to make a real difference with a generous gift. They focus on their available cash, and forget that their property can be the source of the gift.

Planned Giving – Life Insurance

Insurance is one of the most flexible planned giving options available to donors. Depending on how you wish to structure your gift, you can realize significant tax advantages during your lifetime or benefit your estate.
