The LIT program consists of:

  • 2 weeks of learning and 1 week of being a junior cabin leader
  • 1st week: learning about important leadership skills for camp, a basic overview of the bible, sessions on sharing a testimony, teaching devotionals, understanding the church and the importance of servant leadership. They will also do practical servant leadership as they help in the kitchen, cleaning the lodge, help on maintenance, and helping in the tuck shop.
  • 2nd week:  there will be a combination of learning and putting what was learnt into practice by leading 1 skill during the day and joining a cabin for their cabin kickback. Still serving in the tuck shop, dishpit, and helping clean the lodge.
  • 3rd week: LIT’s jump into the cabin as a junior LIT leading a group of 6 campers, with the help of one of the senior cabin leaders.

Once the three weeks are completed, it is our goal to have the LIT’s join our summer staff team as support staff for the remainder of the summer. This opportunity will be discussed with the LIT’s throughout their training weeks.
