Luke grew up in Winnipeg with his parents and two siblings. His family went to church at Nassau Street Church (formerly Gospel Mennonite Church) where he learned about stories from the bible and developed his faith. At NSC he was dedicated as an infant, received his first bible, was baptized, and is now an official member of the church. Luke attended youth group at Nassau Street church from grade 6 to grade 12 and is now a part of the young adults bible study group. Another place where he learned about and grew in his faith was at Linden Christian School from grade 1 to grade 12 where he was able to see the example of Christian living by teachers and other staff as well as engage in conversations and discussions about faith and Christian living.
Luke first became formally involved with Cedarwood in the summer of 2023 when he joined the summer staff team. After an exciting and fulfilling summer he found that he had a real passion for youth ministry and the work that Cedarwood is doing. After some talk with Cedarwood administration, Luke joined the year-round team as Program Assistant preparing for following summers and spreading the word of Cedarwood and its mission.
