Youth Outreach Worker

Jayce is a skilled cook with experience working in camps, cafés, and retirement community kitchens across the City of Kawartha Lakes. His love for all things food led him to a career in the culinary industry, where he has been cooking for residents at a local retirement community since February of 2025. Currently pursuing a culinary apprenticeship to master his trade, Jayce is excited to bring his skills to our Come Cook With Us program—empowering kids to confidently bring what they learn back into their own kitchens at home.

Outside of the culinary world, Jayce loves all things sports!  Although he grew up playing soccer and hockey, over the years he fell in love with the sport of disc golf.  Jayce is a member of the PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) and competes throughout the year at different tournaments around the province.  He also plays a big role in the local disc golf community, attending league nights at Memorial Park in Lindsay, as well as running a league at the course during the week.  If you want to talk to Jayce about disc golf, make sure you have an hour to spare – sometimes the best way to explain something is by demonstrating!
