This past year, God has been taking me on a journey, stirring my heart and pulling me back towards prayer and intercession. During my young adult years, prayer and intercession were the area that I often found myself ministering in. As I raised my family, I became more focused on my children and working with children with special needs. However, I am now finding my love for prayer, spending time with Jesus and holding others up before Him has returned in a significant way.

As this calling has begun to rise up in me, and knowing that Youth for Christ Victoria has been without a prayer coordinator for the last few years, I began to consider taking on this responsibility. I believe that ministries, ministers and their families need to be bathed in prayer to be as effective as they can be in advancing the Kingdom of God. I contacted the YFC Board regarding this direction and, after meeting with them, I am excited and honoured to be invited to serve YFC Victoria with this ministry.

A couple verses that are close to my heart are simply: 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing” and 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I know that God’s promises are true and when He answers the prayers of His people, others will be set free and His Kingdom will expand.
