I grew up in a non-Christian home, but luckily my grandma went to church and started to take our family with her when we visited over the summers. With programs like youth groups, VBS, and other fun events, it was just enough to keep me coming back. By the time I reached grade 10, going to church on Sundays, youth programs, and having leaders speak into my life, I finally started to take my faith seriously and made it my own.

This is just part of my testimony, but it is enough to stir up my heart. I believe it is crucial to build and develop a strong relationship and understanding of Jesus when young. My life started to drastically change when I had leaders from youth pour into me and not give up on me despite my struggles and big self-doubt.

I have always wanted to help and serve people in whatever way I could. These are just two reasons why I want to lead the next generation of youth to Jesus and build a lasting relationship with Him. The thought of them missing out on the opportunity to know Him and their value in Him moves me to action. In the Gospels, Jesus talks to His disciples about the special importance that children have in the kingdom of God. I believe through this opportunity with Youth for Christ, I will be able to reach out to youth and help them come to know who Jesus is, grow in their relationship, and for some, restore their relationship with Him.

I joined YFC Victoria in 2013, taking the position as Executive Director with a vision to bring God’s message of hope to every young person in greater Victoria. Knowing that I cannot do this on my own, I have been looking for people that I can trust; people that can grow and develop ministries with youth that I can work closely with on a daily basis. Zeke is uniquely gifted and one whose heart is to see youth come into the fullness of a relationship with Jesus.
