As youth and their families have been closer to home during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lakefield Youth Unlimited (LYU) is offered an initiative to encourage families to work together to create positive memories.

Using chalk, families were asked to draw their concept of HOPE on their driveways or sidewalks and then submit a photo to the lakefieldyouthunlimited Facebook page or email them to Sarah: sarahj@youthunlimitedkaw.com (submission date has now passed). Sarah (LYU Elementary Outreach Worker) and volunteer judges announced a winner and dropped off prizes on April 1st.

Chris Jones, Lakefield Youth Unlimited’s Satellite Director, wanted to bring a small piece of hope and fun to the Lakefield community – hoping that as community members drive around the village of Lakefield they will see these signposts of encouragement during a difficult time.
