The C2C Drama Club invites youth between the ages of 10-17 years of age to join our team for the Fall season of Drama Club.
The C2C Drama Club is an evening program for youth ages 10-17 years. Drama Club is designed to be a safe place where youth can explore their interest in theatre, grow in self-confidence, and find a voice. All youth who sign up for the program will be in the show. There are 20 spots available for actors. Auditions are held to determine who will take on which role.
There are an additional 2 spots available for youth interested in working on props, sets, and being a stage hand during the show. Please contact Christine at christine@nyfc.org to arrange this.
We are still working out the details of the production that we will present in December, but Aaron Wilkinson, our fearless Director and Playwright is currently working on the play! Stay Tuned!
Here are the details for rehearsals:
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 6:10 pm – 8:15 pm (September 22nd – December 15th)
Extra Rehearsals: 10 am to 1 pm – PA Day Monday, October 26th; Saturdays, November 21, November 28, December 5
Dress Rehearsal: December 10 – 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Show Dates: December 11 – 7 pm, December 12 – 2 pm
Student Leaders: Youth who are 15-17 years of age may apply to be a student leader. There will be an interview and student leaders will need to attend a 2 hour training session. Apply at nyfc.org/juniorleaders.
All student leaders are on stage as part of the cast and will have an assigned role. To help with the cost of costumes, student leaders will pay a reduced rate of $40 for the season. They will be expected to show up a half an hour before rehearsal and leave a half an hour after the rehearsal ends. They should be available to help with set up, take down, set and backdrop design, props or costumes.
You can register below. Registration fee is $100 per youth, 10% discount per additional family member, and subsidies are available on request.
Tuesday evening rehearsals will begin with opening theatre exercises, followed by the rehearsal time, ending with a God Talk Time.
Attendance is very important as actors who miss a rehearsal will leave a “hole” in the scene being rehearsed. Please check the schedule to see if you have any conflicts with the dates listed.
Drama Club is staffed by adult volunteers and staff of Northumberland Youth Unlimited.
