God has given Lonnie Bouvier a deep passion for youth through both her own experiences as a teenager and her journey of raising teenagers. These experiences have helped her understand many of the challenges young people face today, including questions of identity, anxiety, loneliness, and the pressure to fit in. She believes every young person deserves a safe place to belong, caring adults who will walk alongside them, and the opportunity to discover the hope and purpose found in Jesus.
Completing her Social Service Worker placement and volunteering at The Spot confirmed God’s call for Lonnie to serve youth in ministry. Seeing firsthand the impact that Christ-centred relationships and authentic community can have on a young person’s life inspired her to join the team as Program Coordinator. In this role, she helps create spaces where youth can connect, grow, ask honest questions, and experience the love of Christ. She is passionate about supporting the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and relationally—and considers it a privilege to walk alongside youth during some of the most formative years of their lives. As she continues pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work, she looks forward to growing in her ability to serve, support, and advocate for the young people in her community.
When she’s not at The Spot, Lonnie enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children, and their two dogs. She loves gathering people around a table and sharing a meal, believing there is something special about food, conversation, and creating space where people feel welcome and connected. She loves bringing people together and helping them experience a sense of belonging, community, and the love of Jesus.
