YFC Canada

Living Fully in Christ

We see the hope and potential in every young person.

YFC Steinbach is a chartered member of YFC Canada, an international, non-denominational Christian ministry who, for over 75 years, has passionately engaged young people to live their full life potential as designed by God.

Motivated by our faith

We believe that transformed youth have the opportunity to transform communities, our country, and the world. We engage and equip youth to know and follow Jesus.

Youth for Christ Steinbach holds to the vision of “creating a community of Hope, where no young person goes hungry; spiritually, emotionally, physically or relationally”.

One YFC, 37 Chapters

Youth for Christ in Canada carries out local ministry through our Chapters – from Halifax in the east to Vancouver Island in the west.

Hundreds of Community Programs

Our model allows us to learn from best practices in ministry across the country while still allowing a Chapter to take on a flavour all of its own to meet local ministry needs.

YFC Family Characteristics

Youth for Christ Steinbach operates under the umbrella of YFC Canada, but functions as an individual registered charity with Revenue Canada (BN132943721RP0001) fully responsible for our own programming, staffing and funding.

YFC Canada is structured as an association of chapter ministries each receiving their “charter” from the National Office of YFC Canada in Surrey, BC. Each of the chapters has an independent board of directors and has achieved charitable status through the offices of CRA in Ottawa. Each chapter is led by an Executive Director who is recruited and employed by the local Chapter Board. Chapter ministries are commissioned to serve the youth of their area through locally approved programs which conform to the international standards and philosophy of YFC International. YFC Chapters are encouraged to broaden their area work through the development of satellite operations in communities within their sphere of influence.

The National Office of YFC Canada exists to serve the local Chapters through the development of a national vision and strategic plan as well as the provision of common services. The National Director is responsible to a National Board of Directors and gives leadership to the movement through the Executive Directors at the Chapter level.
