What I love about volunteering with YFC is the laid back atmosphere of the centre. I love that my quirkiness is appreciated there and that I can bring joy to the room. I enjoy seeing the wacky cast of characters that come into the centre every week, and the interactions I have with them.

Jen’s journey with Youth Unlimited began in 2018 as a volunteer. She became a summer worker in 2020, an intern in 2021, and a staff member in early 2022.
I was drawn by YFC’s commitment to building long-lasting relationships with community youth. I also admired the variety of programs they offered to meet needs in a community. In the area I volunteered in, many of the youth are from a South Asian background and shared a passion for sports, so I thought it was a perfect fit for me as a Filipino athlete. Being involved with YFC since 2018 has given me an opportunity to serve outside of the church and has shown me the value of long-term relational ministry.
