Project Serve

Project Serve is an exciting opportunity for youth from grade 9 to grade 12 who want to learn about living life with a serving attitude. We base our teaching on the Bible, and we will talk about topics like: team work, world view, who is God, self-worth, compassion, servant leadership and more. There will be faith based conversations, but the youth are not required to believe. They only need to be willing to participate in the conversations. We believe that faith is important enough that everyone needs to explore it and come to a decision about it.

How often do we meet and what do we do: We meet every two weeks where we have teaching, team building exercises, and small groups. We look for ways to serve our community together as a team, and we challenge each of the youth with specific “serving opportunities”. As part of the program we also go on a serving trip to Winnipeg where we work alongside an urban mission, and a longer mission trip to a foreign country.

Cost: The total cost for the program, including the trips to Winnipeg and abroad, will be appr. $3000. We will do fundraisers together to help with the cost.

How to sign up? Each participant/guardian needs to fill out an application form and sign a consent form.. You can contact us directly if you have questions or would like an application form. E-mail: projectserve@wyfc.ca. Phone: Stine Lade 204-303-0122. Find us on Facebook: Project Serve Westman.

We respect the treaties that were made on these lands and acknowledge that Westman Youth for Christ is located on Treaty 2 Lands. If we have the privilege of welcoming you in our home communities, we will be meeting on the traditional homelands of the Dakota, Anishanabek, Swampy Cree, Oji-Cree and Metis peoples.

WYFC is honoured to share this land with our Indigenous brothers and sisters who continue to live on their ancestral land.
