Leave a Legacy

Have you ever wondered how you could leave a legacy?  Here at YFC London we have provided opportunities to do that.  Whether it be through a General or Specific Bequest, or through Securities In-Kind, Life Insurance Policies, or RSPs and RIFs, leaving a legacy impacts youth for years to come!

As many people across Canada, you likely have donated to your favourite charity in cash, by cheque or by credit card. Those gifts make an immediate impact, and here at London Youth for Christ, they have helped to bring hope to youth across our city by meeting their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.   But there are also other ways in which you can have lasting impact in shaping the future generations of youth.  This is through legacy giving.  Legacy gifts can be thought of as deferred gifts, or gifts given in the future. They can include a bequest to London Youth for Christ; this may be done by naming the organization as a full or partial beneficiary of your estate in your will.

RSPs & RIFs

These can be donated directly to YFC without paying any tax penalties and thereby increasing your donation value.
Talk to your financial advisor for more information about how to do this most effectively for your portfolio.

 

Life Insurance Policies

There are several ways to arrange a gift to YFC through your life insurance policy and in some cases, an immediate tax receipt can be given and premiums may be tax deductible. Ask your insurance advisor for more information.

 

Charitable Bequests

These are gifts which are made through your will.

General Bequest
Legacies that are left to “London Youth for Christ” from the general value of your estate.

Specific Bequest
Are made when a specific item, shares or property is bequested (ie-company shares, land, vehicle, etc.)

 

Securities In-Kind

Consider donating securities In-Kind such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The tax advantages can be significant.
