YFC Canada
Well, this is the last email from me, at least for this season! I wanted to take a quick moment to share my heart with you, our partners, and reflect on and pray for YFC London.
I am so grateful for my time at YFC London. I have learned more about God, others, and me, and these learnings will stay with me for the rest of my life. I am grateful for the team – all past and present staff members and volunteers – who have been supportive, encouraging, and simply a joy to work with. I am grateful particularly for the unique gifts that each person who overlapped with me through this last season brought to the organization. I say often that the best teams complement each other, rather than simply being comprised of the same type of person. The challenge is to hold a team with different personalities and skills together, which requires investment from each individual. I am grateful that each person on the team has bought in and done that. We have a strong team here, and I am excited for Nicki to be able to join a team with such a strong foundation. I can’t wait to see where this team goes next!
I am so grateful for you, our partners, who give to this organization in time, and finances, and prayer. I am thankful for your support and encouragement, and the way in which your heart for Jesus, the organization, and the people within it is evident. Thank you for what you have done in making a difference in the lives of young people – your impact extends beyond that which you know today and probably will ever know this side of heaven.
I pray for the health of YFC London through this season of change and transition. For our new executive director Nicki, that she will be supported, encouraged, and cared for, by our board, our team, and you, our partners. For the staff and volunteer team, that they will connect well with Nicki, that each will be able to exercise their unique strengths, and that all will look back on this transition as one that helped grow YFC London. For the board, that they will connect with Nicki and the staff team in a way that leads to flourishing for YFC London and for each young person that connects with us. For you, our partners, that you will remain connected and committed to the mission, partnering with us in prayer, volunteering, and financial giving. For the young people we care for, that they will continue to connect with Jesus through the staff and volunteers who love them and see the image of God in each one. May God always grant us the strength to love the people that are placed in our path each day.
Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege and responsibility to be part of this team for this season. I am so grateful for each of you.
With gratitude,
Joel Timmerman
