It was our regular Crew Night, youth were streaming in like any regular Tuesday Afternoon. As staff the slow, drop-in type start is a great time of connecting and  engaging one on one with our youth. A deeper conversation started that has stuck with me for the past few weeks now. The young man I was talking with was on the verge of high school graduation. He had been a core piece of the ministry this past year and he was sharing his concerns and uncertainties of what’s next in his life, high school was over for him and he had plans to attend University. Along with many other changes in his life he was recognizing that his time at YFC was going to be coming to an end. Through the conversation we discussed the importance of keeping God as the centre when going into the workplace and University life. It was an encouraging conversation for both of us as I was able to share the importance of having someone in our lives that can disciple us as we strive to disciple those around us.

It is so exciting to witness a youth build faith at YFC and hear their desire to follow Jesus in every area of their life. While moving onto new things often brings a wide range of emotions, especially for youth stepping into adulthood, we are thankful for the opportunity to help prepare and model how they can live out their faith. It is a blessing to know know that God is continuing to work in the lives of our youth no matter where they go, growing the seeds of faith planted during their time at YFC.
