Chanice grew up in the North End of Winnipeg, where life’s challenges were a daily reality. Although she didn’t grow up in a Christian household, she found God’s love through the caring community at Youth For Christ. When Chanice was a young girl, she had been looking for stability, safety and light in a dark world and she was able to experience that while attending YFC’s Summer Workforce program. Chanice felt seen, loved and heard from the staff’s genuine care and made a lasting impression.

Inspired by the positive impact YFC had on her life, Chanice began volunteering after aging out of the programs. In October 2021, God put it on her heart to  officially join YFC’s Summer Workforce team! After a year of working with YFC, she attended Lifeteams School of Youth Outreach in British Columbia to deepen her relationship with God and gain a deeper understanding of how to support youth spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Chanice loves being able to walk alongside young people in the north end, showing them the same compassion and hope that she once received.

She is very passionate about tending to the creative mind God has given her by immersing herself in art in many different ways. Such as painting, writing, art galleries etc. Chanice also loves exploring nature and learning about creation!
