Deb joined the YFC Winnipeg staff in April of 2018 as the Director of New Hope (now Young Parents).

As a young adult, God placed a passion within Deb to support teen parents, and she has served as a volunteer with YFC teen parent programs for many years, as well as at Crisis Pregnancy Centre. 

After some time away raising her own family, she sensed God calling her back into this ministry with an even deeper passion for supporting young parents on their journey. 

Deb believes deeply that young parents need to be seen, known and loved, having a safe place to belong. She knows that Jesus provides that “beloved” identity for them if they choose, and longs for them to flourish in their God-given potential and gifts, knowing that they can become a transformative presence in their own families and communities also.

Deb loves to cook and try new recipes, and is always anticipating the next family road trip. Together, with her husband Dory and their three children, they have enjoyed and explored many different places in Canada and the U.S., appreciating the journey as much as the destination. Now that their kids are grown, Deb and Dory and finding their own new adventures!
