Originally from El Salvador, Kathy immigrated to Winnipeg in 1985 with her father and siblings. As a child, she attended the Catholic church in her small town, but as a teenager, she walked away from her relationship with God and spent decades of her life lost and deceived in new age spirituality. In a sequence of events sparked by a wholehearted and earnest search for truth that started in 2021, the Holy Spirit led Kathy to THE TRUTH, Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Kathy gave her life to the Lord on June 15, 2022. She is a member of New Life Sanctuary Church.

Kathy joined the YFC family October 2025 in the role of Human Resources Coordinator. She brings years of experience in Human Resources having worked in various sectors over the years including manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare and non-profits. Her ministry experience includes roles a Staff Coordinator at the House of Hesed, a ministry that cares for people living with HIV/AIDs and most recently, she worked as an Inner City Ministry Worker with Union Gospel Mission, Family Life Centre where she served in an Emergency Food Program and in the Children’s Ministry, working with inner-city children ages 5-12.. Kathy continues to serve at Union Gospel Mission as a volunteer.

Kathy also has experience as a Crisis and Suicide Intervention Counsellor and she currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Family Support Centre.

In her spare time, Kathy loves spending time with her granddaughter, Olivia Joy, refreshing her soul in nature and studying herbal medicine.
