His journey with YFC started in the year 2000 as a volunteer in the Music & Outreach Team at YFC Kenya. From there, he joined the staff team at YFC Kenya as the Missions Coordinator, and later took on the role of Church Relations Officer.

During his time as the Missions Coordinator at the YFC Kenya, he fell in love with facilitating youth missions and sensed a call to sports ministry. As a former soccer player and a practicing licensed coach, he started using his skills and knowledge/expertise of the game to connect with youth. He found joy in talking to young people about choosing to follow Christ, and also teaching them life skills as they develop to become responsible Christian adults.

Sam is passionate about holistically helping youth to unlock their God-given potential and walking with them to figure out and reach their God-appointed destinies in life. Sam made contact with YFC Winnipeg in 2017 as a volunteer in the soccer program, and took on the job of Ministry Director in 2021.

Off the field he enjoys family time, singing, playing the guitar, socializing, and reading books.
