YFC Canada
Shaunna was working as a grade 7 and 8 French teacher in Ontario when she felt God saying that it was now time for her to respond to a call He had placed on her life as a teen. This call was to move to Winnipeg and become involved in full time ministry. Shaunna loves working with youth, and she loves discipleship. These two passions are what lead her to YFC.
Shaunna began working at YFC in November 2012 in the Work Force ministry in Winnipeg’s north-end. After serving with Work Force for 7 years, she was invited to take on a new role. YFC wanted to start up a new ministry in the William Whyte neighbourhood (an inner city community she hopes to see thrive in the future) and asked Shaunna if she would be willing to give leadership to this. This was definitely a God thing. He had been preparing Shaunna for this role without her knowing it; even to the point of having her move to the North End, so that she could live where she served. Shaunna’s genuine love for the community she serves is apparent to all who spend even the shortest amount of time with her. We are also thrilled to have Shaunna be a member of the YFC Canada national committee on Diversity. Shaunna is indeed a leader. She leads by example, and she leads with her heart.
When not at work, Shaunna enjoys reading, doing puzzles, playing the flute, and more recently, gardening. She’s always up for a good adventure, and believes that laughter is the best medicine.
