YFC Canada
Stevie’s journey with YFC started while on a mission trip to Ecuador in 2001. When she came back she was so passionate to continue serving the Lord with young people she began volunteering at the Back Door (YFC) in Carman, and at her church as a youth and junior youth leader. That led to becoming a summer student at YFC.
It was increasingly apparent to Stevie that these hurting students who were constantly opening up to her needed more than what she could offer at the time. She felt God was directing her to Bible College with the desire to go into counselling. Stevie continued to volunteer with students at different YFC’s, as a youth & Jr. youth leader, and Sunday school teacher as she felt the Lord leading her to work with young people wherever she lived.
In 2011 the director at YFC Carman approached Stevie about working as the female program coordinator. Through prayerful consideration Stevie felt God calling her to the position, as she has always had a heart to work with hurting youth, and particularly girls. Later that same year Stevie met her amazing husband, Aaron, as he moved to Carman and became the Youth Pastor at her church. They were married the following year and had the unique opportunity to serve the youth of Carman at Youth, Jr. Youth, and YFC together. Stevie and Aaron now have 3 beautiful children – Ava, Noah & Mya.
Stevie continues to work with the girls at the Back Door for regular Girl’s Nights, leads Drop-In nights & coordinates the prayer ministry. In her spare time Stevie enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending time outside.
