Colin Chen

Position: Ministry Director

Department: YFC Arborg

Colin was born and raised in Singapore. In his career life, he has held various roles such as Technical Ministries Team Lead at a church, Systems Administrator specializing in digital archival of heritage materials, and InfoComm Tech Pedagogy Officer in a school. in 2013, Colin shuttled to Cambodia monthly to support a countryside church with resources and technical capability. In 2015, God called Colin to move to Cambodia as a missionary in a church plant from the countryside into the capital city, serving as an English Teacher in the church as an evangelistic outreach.

After that took off, Colin moved into the Cambodian business arena in various Senior Management roles. The roles allowed him to create an average of 15 new jobs every month while influencing the business community in conducting business righteously. Colin loves developing emerging leaders into management roles.

In 2020, Colin and his wife Brenda heard God’s call to move from Cambodia to Canada. They answered that call and entered Canada just before COVID shut down the world. Colin joined YFC Arborg as a Volunteer in 2020 and became the Program Director in 2023. Brenda, who was born in Belize, has most of her immediate family in Arborg, which is how Colin & Brenda came to settle down in Arborg. They have a son, Ian River, and attend Freedom Worship Centre. Colin is also the Tech Director, Volunteer Coordinator and Office Administrator there.

Colin dreams and hungers to see a move of God that is unprecedented for people to be convicted of sin and turn towards God for redemption and abundant and everlasting life. For God to restore the abused, destroyed, and stolen. Colin also loves discipleship and mentoring to raise the next generation into greater Godly exploits than the past.

Colin loves most things tech and googly, and in his free time, you’d find him tinkering with spreadsheets, software platforms, reading AI, business ideas, etc, or he’d be gaming in an attempt to keep himself young.
