Katy began her journey with YFC as an intern counsellor with the Turning Point Counselling ministry in 2012. Although it was never her intention to use her formal counselling training in a ministry setting, God clearly had other plans, as He stirred in her heart a love and passion for the mission and vision of YFC and Turning Point Counselling. Katy is so pleased to be able to use her training and giftings to serve in youth ministry. She counts it a blessing and a joy to be a part of a team of people with a shared calling, passion for ministry, and commitment to God’s ongoing work in their lives and in the lives of their clients.

As a Counsellor, Katy is honoured to walk alongside people who are struggling and help them journey towards hope and healing. It is her desire that every person who comes into her office would feel heard and cared for. Katy believes that beauty can come out of brokenness and that God’s eternal light can shine in even the darkest places. It is God who enables Katy to care for people and she desires to offer comfort to those in trouble, just as God has comforted her (2 Corinthians 1:4).

When Katy is not at work she enjoys doing art, crafts and sewing projects as well as spending time with her family on their acreage in the country.
