Michael joined the YFC Winnipeg team in November 2011.

Shortly after graduating from the University of Manitoba with his Bachelor of Commerce, Michael was questioning what he wanted to do with his life. While working at a cubicle job, he looked at how much of his time he was spending in front of a computer with little human interaction and minimal opportunities to further the kingdom. Recognizing this is not what he wanted to do with his life, he set out looking for something else. Michael’s sister Ashley directed him to the YFC Winnipeg website where she saw a job that looked perfect for him. Knowing that Michael had years of experience volunteering in other Christian non-profits in a fundraising capacity as well as on a board level, the position of Director of Development looked like a good fit. Shortly after that Michael started at YFC Winnipeg as the Director of Development.

During his first year at YFC, Michael saw a many needs in the organization that he was capable of taking on and after one year he moved into the new role of Director of Operations. Over the following years Michael’s leadership in the organization was expanded and now he serves as the Senior Director of Operations.  He oversees a significant part of the organization’s administrative functions including Accounting/Finance, HR/People Development and Facilities/Asset Management. Michael also plays a significant role in organization leadership, strategic planning and organizational development.

When Michael is not at YFC, he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Kimberly and their three children; Fritz, Heidi and Hans.
