Throughout Parker’s life he has wrestled with God, wanting to live his way and do things that he wanted to do rather than listen to God and what He wanted. That led to a life far from Him and one thing after another Parker was left feeling heartbroken and lost. Over the past few years God has been pursuing his heart in every way and it was when he finally opened the Bible and began to realize how alive the Word of God is that his life changed! More and more he began to look at his life and realize it was not in alignment with God and His plan, then conviction started to set in. He came to a point where he knew there was only one choice, to surrender his life to Christ. So he decided to get baptized and start walking the path that God has prepared.
Seven days after getting baptized he received the opportunity to be The Rig director and use all the gifts God has given him so he could spread the Good News of the coming Kingdom! Parker is passionate about helping others along their fitness journey and do things they never thought possible. The opportunity to be a part of Youth For Christ, to share the many things that God has taught him and minister to the hearts of young people in combination with his passion for fitness was proof to him that God knows the deepest desires of our hearts.
Parker joined to Youth For Christ team in March, 2022. Having the opportunity to be Ministry Director of The Rig is an answer to his prayers in so many ways. Over the years he has had the privilege to work with so many wonderful people as their personal trainer and coach but knew in his heart that he wanted to work with youth. He knew his life’s experience would have more impact for The Kingdom of God working with young people than as a personal trainer in a secular gym! As the Rig Director he is excited to build programs that allow youth to experience what it’s like to be a “Ninja Warrior” as they would see on tv or better yet providing a solid foundation to young athletes who want to compete on the world stage in their respective sports! He also get to use the imagination and creativity God has blessed him with to dream BIG and create all new programs and events like our “Nalo” (Nerf Halo) nights! There are so many things he loves about his job but the best part is being able to build and steward the relationships with youth, pointing them towards Jesus, and be a walking testimony of God’s Grace! He is so grateful for this opportunity to contribute in making disciples and building into the body of Christ here in Winnipeg!
Currently he volunteers with Riverwood Church in their High School ministry which he says is just another blessing to have more opportunity to work with youth.
