YFC Canada
Rachel is passionate about teaching and forming healthy, loving relationships with youth–her ultimate goal is to show the love of Christ to all youth she engages with. She is currently enrolled in the Education program at the University of Winnipeg. As she enters the final years of her program, she is thrilled to combine her life’s greatest passions: loving youth, teaching, and her relationship with Jesus Christ.
Rachel’s journey with YFC began in 2019 in the Quinte region where she worked the summer assisting in overseeing the Belleville and Brighton Youth Drop-Ins. Additionally, she assisted with their Graphic Word program, where she could use her “nerdy” passions to engage with youth in playing board games and enjoying fellowship with fellow nerds. It was here that her passion for youth ministry was first sparked: as she found that nothing brought her more joy than watching God work in the lives of not only the youth, but her co-workers in Christ also.
A love for the Word of God is at the center of Rachel’s life. There is nothing that thrills her more than conversations about the Bible, and hearing how others are engaging with the Word of God. Rachel grew up in a Christian household where the Bible was held in highest esteem and pointed to as the source of all answers, and she held that view close all her life. It is because of this love that she has cultivated a passion for speaking and living in integrity and truth.
In her spare time she enjoys playing board games with friends and family. Rachel is a writer at heart, enjoying journaling regularly, reading, creative writing, and poetry. She also loves engaging in other art forms such as the dramatic arts, illustration, and improvisational storytelling.
